I am 27 years old and have been dating my boyfriend for four years. We have a great relationship and he treats me great but there are a few things that still bother me. We are at the point where he is talking about moving in together and a possible engagement in the next year. Recently, I have been in touch with someone I grew up with in my neighborhood. We never had a serious relationship but I grew up with him and always had a crush on him. I had a crush on him in grade school, we were somewhat together in high school - I had another serious boyfriend at the time so it didn't work out and then we tried to date in college but we were very immature and were too involved in other social activities to have a serious relationship. Ithink about this guy I grew up with all of the time. We haven't been in touch lately because I feel like that is unfair to my current boyfriend. Breaking up would break both of our hearts and I am not sure if that is the best option or not - I also don't want to have any regrets with not trying things with the guy I grew up with. Looking for advice, please help!

I have recently found out I am going to be a grandmother. My husband had not taken the news very well and has kicked our daughter out. She is mid twenties and is now in a homeless hostel. He won’t accept the pregnancy but can’t explain why. He just avoids the situation completely. I am now stuck in the middle between the both of them and cannot have them in the same house. How am I supposed to choose between them when I don’t feel my daughter has done anything wrong and I know my husband is struggling with lockdown but won’t admit it. I have been in my current relationship for 3 and a half years, I've been living with him for just over 2 years. I am ready to settle and be married and have kids but he is more interested in going out to the club and getting drunk 3 times a week. In all these years he has not shown me one but of commitment. He has never told me he loves me and if I ask him if he does love me then he says he doesn't know. My question to him is how can you not know after more than 3 years? He also never says stuff like one day when we are married or one day when we have kids. I've never had any indication of commitment from him. I have sacrificed so much for him. I left my job to move in with him and got another job which broke me, I was so passionate about teaching and then I wasn't, so I got another job working 7-5 which made me lose focus on my studies. Then when lockdown came, I lost my job and my partner became super demanding and has started treating me like a kid. There is 8 years between us. His time is limited so I know if I had to end it that I will be find because I am young (23). Anyway I've come back to my old job to do my practicles and I've met someone else. Nothing has happened between us but I feel this spark and connection. And we have the same interests, teaching kids. Any advice would be great, thanks. Basically should I end it or try make it work? I really do or did love my current boyfriend but I feel like I'm falling out of love because he hasn't shown me any commitment. He also never comforts me when I am upset, he always just says toughen up, or deal with it or you'll get over it.

I have dated my boyfriend for almost four years now. We are 25 years old. He has not yet proposed and I am frustrated about that. He says the reason why is because we're not financially stable yet. He also mentions that there are higher divorce rates the younger someone marries. Which I totally understand, but in my mind, I see it as no matter the circumstance, why doesn't he put all of that aside and show me how serious he is about me and propose to me. He is currently building a career for himself, opening up his own business while I am still in school. We don't live together yet because when I am resuming my intense two-year college degree program. Soon I will not be holding down a job for two years because it is an intense program, while again, where both building our lives. Would you advise me to have a serious talk with him that if by the end of 2020 if he doesn't propose than I'll have to part my ways and end our relationship? At the end of year 2020, we will be a couple months away from our sixth year relationship anniversary. I don't want to waste my time and wait for years and years on end.

I've been dating this woman for five years and things suddenly changed. I met this woman when I took an out of town job and we hit it off instantly. She was the fire to my soul. She was a single mother with two young boys and even though I don't normally date single mothers, there was finding about her. She made me feel like no one ever has. We were young and in love. After a month I was living with her. Eventually, her crazy side emerged and I found myself packing my stuff and waiting on the sidewalk for my ride after every major argument almost once a month. Of course persistence and love overcame the crazy and our relationship was one to be envied. A few years go by and she decided she wants to have a weight loss procedure done. I made sure the kids were fed, clothes, and clean. I was on top of their chores and school work. I did what I had to do. After she recovered, her mom ended up moving in with us. Bad move. Her mom started filling my wife and son's heads with lies like I was cheating on her or I didn't love her. She would tell my wife that the kids were scared of me and that I beat them. Eventually my wife kicked me out. With no place to go, I had no choice but to stay with my parents. Three months go by and my love for her is as strong as ever. Then she tells me that her mom destroyed a wash machine in our apartment complex and they're evicting everyone. My wife reasons with them and they agree to let her stay as long as her mom leaves. A few months go by and I notice my wife is a little more distant than usual. She spends a lot more time on facebook. Well, one night I was up late as usual and her phone went off. I got curious and checked it. The message was from a guy. It said "lol I love you". My heart dropped. I woke her up and asked her about it. As it turns out, she added an ex-boyfriend without even considering me. She explained that he requested her and she added him without even thinking and deleted him. I let it go. She's even more distant now. One day, I snatch her phone to see what's so important that she has to shut out myself and our kids. She puts up a huge fight, trying to take it. During the struggle, I notice that she had 142 friends (I remember numbers for some reason). So I give it back to her and she does something on it for about a minute, not letting me see what she's doing, then she tries to hand it to me. I decline. Later that night, I look again and she only has 141 friends. I ask her about it the next day and she claims ignorance. Things have only gotten worse. A few weeks ago she told me that she wanted a break. She hasn't been intimate with me in months. I ask her if there's still a chance between us and all I get is maybe someday. Then I also start growing feelings for him. The thing is when he found out that i have boyfriend , he didn't talk to me anymore. So I started dating a Ukrainian woman at the beginning of October I am 43 and she is 37 and she has a son that is 11, when I first met her son he wanted to go back to Ukraine which she said they couldn’t because they have no idea what they would have. Then around Thanksgiving we found out she was pregnant. We were in different states at the time visiting family, while visiting family she wanted the baby and have a family. She got back to where we are living (same city) and when she got back she flipped and wanted to get rid of it. We went through it with me not wanting to get rid of the baby, she made her mind up and there was nothing I could have done that would have changed it. I proposed to her on Dec 15th, because we were going to start a family and I didn’t want her to think I wouldn’t support them. Her son and I bonded which she wanted, while Christmas shopping her son asked about Christmas Lights and was I putting anymore up? I said no, I think I am done for this year and he asked about doing more next year and I said no problem. I told her and she I think got scared because he wasn’t wanting to go back to Ukraine now and enjoying being here. We talked to an immigration lawyer to find out what the process was because I never did it before. Her and the Lawyer talked in Ukrainian which I think was about green card and if they could go back at some point. The lawyer said when you start the process you cannot go back. I think that scared her as well. We started talking about houses and she wanted a new house (mine is 40 years old and small closets). I told her we could look into it but I couldn’t sell at the moment as the market isn’t very good, but we did look at a couple. Everything was good until New Years and she started having doubts. I thought we worked them out and she said not everything. I will admit I do suck at communicating with someone (calling and texting). She was going to break up with me the beginning of January but I fought it and worked on communicating with her. She was happy I was doing that and said she wanted US no matter what differences we had. I following Thursday I followed her to watch her drop her son off and pick him up from school and on Friday of MLK day weekend I picked her son up. He was excited to move into my house. Well when she arrived she started walking through my home complaining about dust, closet space, and other things. Well we had a fall out. The next day I called to talk to her and have open communication and she gave me a bunch of doubts so I broke up with her and took back the ring. I haven’t talked to her in almost 2 weeks. Now I sit here thinking about her all the time, missing her and her son. People tell me I should text her and then other tell me not to. That you did nothing wrong and she needs to call you. I just want advice on what I should do.

I need advice, I need help, please, I can't find any information on this situation I'm in right now. (My s.o. uses they/them pronouns, just to clarify). My s.o. and I were friends for 3 years before dating, we liked each other for a long time. When we met they were in a five year rebound, from their unplanned child's father. They got pregnant on accident, decided to keep the baby. Were made to get married by his family or get kicked out, six months after baby came their husband (who they were in love with) cheated with the nanny and left them. Five years later still having feelings they hooked up again after the rebound came to an end. I was their roomate during that part, they had a mental breakdown when he left again. A couple years later they hooked up again, but stopped since there was nothing there anymore for either of them. About five months later we started dating. (They did say when I asked, that if there had been any possibility of us being together the second time they wouldn't have done it, they were lonely and sad both times and he was the one that asked to hook up) Here's where the issue comes in, I had really bad RJ about those times when they hooked up. We've mostly resolved that after I told them about my RJ. I trust them, and believe them when they say there is nothing left for their ex. It's been eight years since their marriage happened, their son is 8 years old. The issue: they are still legally married to him. That's another long story. They want to marry me though, they know it's what I've always wanted. My stipulation to them before proposing to me was to be legally divorced. They said as soon as they have money they will make it happen. They were working a job for about two months, and even asked me to send them photos of their marriage license to them. Which of course was very hard for me to see, but I did it. Since then though, they've said nothing about it. My fear is that they will use the divorce in the proposal, or that they haven't done it yet. Now they have no money again as they are a full time student. No way will I pay for their divorce. Also the ex comes up constantly. They mention him all the time, even knowing it bugs me. He's a good dad, but I don't like him as a person. They want to be friends again and keep inviting him to come and do family things. I can tolerate that for their sons sake, but it won't be easy. I'm tired of hearing about him and their life together, tired of my s.o. using "we" and "us" statements when talking about their past together. A couple days ago they were talking to him on the phone (about plans for drop off and pick up), and they were joking about going to divorce court, which must mean it hasn't been done yet. Hi All, I really need some quick advice on this; I’ve been seeing my partner now for 8 months now things have been going good and we see each other quite often (sometimes during the week but mainly spend time with each other on weekends) we have spoken about many elements of moving forward together like moving in together and also having a family this even goes as far as discussing children names which she came up with the idea of some names from her heritage (half Greek), our backgrounds are of different were she was privately educated and myself being in some of the better state schools which I felt might be an issue to her or her family as she earns a great amount more than me. We have progressed the relationship by going on some domestic vacations and now booking to go away in October this year also being introduced to family and friends, on many occasions she’s told me that she loves me and that I’m the best guy she’s been with by a clear mile! And also never planned to have kids with any of her past relationships apart from me and never even discussed things with them like how she has with me. With all this said we do have some indifferences which we debated on a few occasions such as medical values to having a vaccine for the current Covid virus which I’m currently not comfortable to take due to my medical conditions. Just a couple nights ago we were due to go away for 3 nights but the night before she asked if we can talk, on arrival she told me that she’s not sure that the relationship was working out and that she feels like we have different values which would effect us in the long run and has a gut feeling of this. When I asked what these was I was told again that she was worried that I didn’t take my medical condition seriously and that also she is scared to have kids etc she then also mentioned this whole naming kids again and that she didn’t want to name them anything like we agreed on (wants to give kids English names where we agreed on Greek) which confused me a lot as these were all her ideas. She also said that as I don’t eat pork, bacon etc she felt that it wasn’t something that she was comfortable with and didn’t want to feel that she had to stop eating this which was something that again she said at the beginning of the relationship that she wasn’t fussed about eating or continuing with. I told her all these things mentioned were all things that she had told me she was ok with given the fact it was all really her ideas and thoughts I told her that I was not happy with all this and confronted her a little before I decided to leave her place even though she said to me that she still loves me and that she doesn’t know what to do and feels like she regrets saying these things to me and said maybe she just needs time because these were on her mind for a while even though we only recently booked our tickets to go on vacation last week. It’s now been two days and I’ve not heard a single thing which tbh I thought I would of atleast got a text the night I left asking if I got home alright but so far nothing! She still has a profile pic of us on her WhatsApp but has been totally inactive on social media and I’m now getting worried for her well-being even with everything she said! Please help me!!

My husband is good to me, overall, but every time he has to deal with his family in our house, things get rough. This condo I bought while I was single on my own and after 2-3 years living together he started to help me with the expenses and mortgage. He allows his family to take decisions or to come uninvited to our house to stay causing most of the times being uncomfortable in my own house. In the beginning our relationship was really, great until things got serious and I noticed that whenever I mentioned meeting his daughter he always had a way of evading my request, to a point I made him clearly how humiliated that made me felt that he had to hide his daughter from me, back then she was only 10. That happened for years, until he asked me to marry him and I told him how he expected to marry without me even meeting his daughter. We got married, and when the time of looking for a dress model for her dress his request was that her dressed was to be as good as mine, even though I was the bride. When I had my second child, she was in NICU for 26 days in two different hospitals for a respiratory problem. After I gave birth and while my child was in NICU I was diagnosed with pneumonia and had to stay at the hospital for 3 days. Then we came home and his daughter (who was an adult) wanted to come and visit and stayed. I have to admit she loves her siblings so much, they adore her and so do I, she has become a very good friend of mine, but back then we needed the room she used to sleep in because the children’s room had very serious roof issues and wasn’t habitable back then. My husband knew this, because we’ve talked about it before, but she came and he never said a thing to her and I ended up sleeping in the living room with my newborn, sometimes on the couch with me. Those days were so bad and unjust with me and my baby, specially because my husband allowed that to happened that as I write this my heart aches. I barely slept, I was uncomfortable, unhappy and treated as if it was fault that I didn’t complain, I still drag this issue in our relationship even though it’s been 4 years, because I needed rest and my child needed somewhere safe to be and he didn’t care, he put his daughter above everyone else. Recently he had an uncle that passed away and his mom (who is a great person, I have no issues at all with her before this) it’s coming home for the funeral and with her 5 other relatives and she distributed them around the house because as she stated this was “her son’s house” without even asking for my consent for this. Now I’ll have 7 people staying with us without even asking me about this, nor my husband. He replied that because she was having a hard time, that was her way of coping and that he didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings (of course he wasn’t talking about mine). In the past he has always told me that anyone who wishes to stay here I have to ask him because he pays 1/2 the expenses and he has a saying if they stay or not. (I’m certain that applies only to me and my family). I’m so heartbroken today.

I was married before, moved to another area for my then husband for his career. He cheated on me while there. I'm sure this was before that and then found out he has been using drugs and I just couldn't anymore and got divorced. I remarried five years after meeting my now husband. He has a twin sister. I know both of them from school but we didn't have a proper relationship and only dated him for two weeks. He moved on with his life and so did I. After I left my first husband, we saw each other again and fell head over heels in love. It was great but somehow it all changed when his sister told him of previous relationships I had in my past, and somehow I always felt judged, even up until today. He is not perfect, he used to party and come home early hours of the morning not saying a word and I'd stay at home with my two kids. In 2016, my daughter was born and he was more worried about partying and being with friends which i thought was a phase because my ex husband also did this to me. In 2018, he went to the shop but would always end up taking so long. We were at a friend's this time and then I looked for my phone and he was going through my phone in the toilet and I just couldn't understand what I did wrong. Then my friend told me he needs to tell me something - that he has been using cocaine all this time. I literally broke because I found this out three months after I married again. I literally broke down because I couldn't understand how I allowed this to happen to me again. I ended up questioning myself and wondering why I made such bad men choices. He lost his job during our relationship because of partying and I never knew about it until it happened. He blames me for the fact that he's on drugs. We moved to his family and can afford to live on our own now but he says he needs to be there for his granny. I have been here for over two years and just really want to be on my own. But I am starting to see that nothing I do will change the situation and I will always be second best. The reason I feel like I am second best, if me and his sister has a disagreement he is distant towards me. Its like I feel our relationship is based on his family and I have accepted his sister visiting me every day and listening to her talk about people every single day and it's like i am heating a dead end. I am grateful because I finally finished my studies, even though it been hard especially with him being in this phase. But he is very distant towards me and blames me for everything and throws my past in my face. We have been to our first therapy session now, and he mentioned my past etc and that he only uses cocaine recreationally. I thought we would be closer after the first session instead he went to hang out with his friends because he felt he needed guy time. I am not sure if I am overthinking things, I have just been extremely emotional lately. I am starting to wonder if being on my own isn't the best and raising my two daughters should not be my next option.

I have been married to my husband for three years. Out of those three years, we lived one year with a roommate and two years (and counting) with my MIL. We met outside the US and decided to get married. I left my job and family and moved to the US to be with him. Since I couldn’t work for the first six months we stayed with his roommate. We bought a house and moved after a year. His mom moved in with us to get her green card. Those plans changed and she found a job so she can send money back home. Initial plans of her staying six months changed into two years now and counting. Meanwhile, his sister came also and stayed with us for three months to give birth to her child to get a passport for the child. I have raised my concerns many times to my husband and cried and told him how much all of this impacts our marriage and privacy. Things have not changed and he always says he has to help them since his dad left them when they were kids and he is their father figure. He also worked on getting his brother here. That was my breaking point and I told him it’s not going to work. His mom needs to move out and his brother can stay with her and any other family members they intend to bring. I have to mention that his mom does not contribute to the household in any monetary way. She sends half of her paycheck to her country to her 27-year-old son. She also does not help in the household with cleaning or cooking. We decided that Spring break would be a good time for her to move out. It’s that time now and she is still here. Apparently, she was supposed to move in with a teacher from work but just a week before plans changed and the roommate who lived there before can’t move out until June or July. Now, I’m just thinking this is another excuse for me to just buy time. I can’t do this anymore and feel like my husband is putting his family before me. He tells me I don’t support him, while I actually sacrificed three years of my marriage and privacy along with leaving everything behind to be with him. I don’t know if I should wait until June and see if she is finally moving out or if I should just leave. I love him so much but I’m getting depressed and don’t see a good ending to this.
