I am dating my ex whom I have a son with. We are trying again as he has claimed to be more mature in some ways that he wasn't before. And he has.....except this one area he just keeps on having an issue with. Besides our son, I have 2 other boys from a previous marriage. They are 25 and 22. In me and my ex's previous relationship, he mentioned to the counselor that he feels that I may have slept with my 22 yr old son. Sick right??? I thought so and expressed this until I was blue in the face. A little background on my ex. He grew up where his father left when he was sixteen and his mother is a drinker. Matter of fact his mother's side of the family are a bunch of drinkers and my ex has been an alcoholic a couple of times in his life. He went 10 yrs sober and something made him go back again. I was with him at that time and endured some bad stuff because of it and left him. He became sober again for a while. His last relationship before we tried again, he was involved with someone who was a drinker and weed smoker. It lasted about 6 months, but he again fell backwards. At some point, once they broke up, he got into a fight while he was drunk, and ended up being hurt. He woke up the next day in his bed, in his own piss, and dried blood from his nose and mouth. From that day forward he declared being done with alcohol. I feel that might play apart as well but let me continue. He has 2 other kids by 2 different mothers. He was never in the same household as his other kids, so he didn’t really see them grow into to who they are. So currently his relationship with his kids is a ‘see you when I see you” basis. He loves them, but they do not talk every day. He is not that close to his father, he sees when he wants to (which is better than just seeing him when he wanted money) and he talks to his mother everyday and sees her when he feels like it. ( I don’t particularly care for his mom as she is what I believe to be a functioning alcoholic.) She drinks every day, is on disability, and at one point was an enabler when he was drinking. He doesn’t see his one brother very much (who by the way screwed one of his girlfriend’s when they were younger) but will be there for him if something were to happen. So he doesn’t seem like he is that close to family. Me? My parents divorced when I was maybe 5, but my dad got married again to my stepmother. I have a close family. We are an affectionate family as well. We are not perfect but what family is. My dad has been married 3 times. My mother married a man whom we never believed appreciated her and she ended up passing away in another state far from family where he wanted them to live. My stepmom is still living and about 2 hrs away from me. Like I said I have sons. My older two and I have been close since their father and I divorced when they were 10 and 7. I have never remarried. My sons and I are very close. We talk almost every single day. And yes, I have gone through the teenage thing with them and there have been some rough patches, but we get through it. They have had some rough times and as a parent, I am there for them. Sometimes more so than I should be. Regardless, once my ex came into our lives, he seemed to embrace them. I believe his dislike of my ex-husband has spurred a lot of his not wanting me to be around my kids. My ex has trust issues. Partly because of his actions in his past relationships and partly because of the crap he has done. So he has always felt like my ex-husband wants to be with me. I couldn’t stress enough how I never wanted to be with my ex-husband enough, but my ex-boyfriend just didn’t seem to get it. He felt that anytime I had contact with my boys, my ex-husband was around the corner. I have never given him any reason to believe I wanted my ex-husband. But my ex-boyfriend just couldn’t accept the friendship my ex-husband and I had developed. When I say friendship I mean, my ex-husband’s family still accepted me as family and would send me and my 3rd son (who was from my ex-boyfriend) gifts on holidays. Ex-boyfriend hated that. Didn’t understand why they continued to do it. Another difference was that my sons were affectionate as well. They would hug or touch my arm. My ex-boyfriend hated that too. Tried to distance me and my sons through arguments. It was working until I figured out what he was doing and decided no one would come between me and my kids. Where he got the idea that I slept with my son….I do not know. I could never do that! Those are my babies! This time around, I see that he still has an issue with my one son! Only because he’s the one who is around so much. But not enough to affect my relationship. But my-boyfriend gets mad when he finds out my son is at my house. Or when he finds out that my son had to sleep on my couch as he is in between places to live. This time, I am voicing myself. My relationship with my kids has no affect on him. It doesn’t stop my attention, my time, or my affection. But he still seems to have a problem. I feel like in the end, I may just have to scrap talking to my ex and let him be. He seems to have some deep rooted issues that I can not solve (nor do I want to) and he is not willing to seek help for.

I am at my wits end, I really need some guidance as I have exhausted all of my own resources to no avail. I married my husband two years ago and we now have an eight-month-old daughter. Our relationship has had consistent traits which I could manage before our daughter was born, but find myself unable to do so now. My husband always puts his family first. Our life has revolved around their needs for almost the entire relationship now, and become progressively more of an issue. I work from home, my father in law would come at least once a week to visit during working hours, he would talk and talk for 2-3 hrs and ignore my requests that I really DID need to get back to my work. My husband felt he was showing he cares about me. Our wedding was originally in New York, just the two of us. I did not want a family wedding for 2 reasons, I am divorced (my first husband defrauded £120K from me and then disappeared off the face of the earth, I was granted a divorce and am still repaying what emerged to be online gambling debts he fraudulently and without my knowledge secured against our home) and 2nd because, I wanted I our wedding to be about us, not his family, just us. Our wedding was in the end a large family wedding where every decision was made by his family, any attempt by me to ''push'' what I wanted was met with apocalyptic abuse and threats. I was to get ready for my wedding in a suite paid for by me, my husbands mother and two sisters arrived on my wedding morning and took over this suite, I did not even get to wash my hair. I could not do this the day before because my husbands sister who was a bridesmaid decided she no longer liked her gown, I therefore had to re-model it... my husbands view? they just wanted to share the day with me... On the birth of my daughter (who sadly was born premature, very low birth weight with various health problems and almost died before she was four months old) I struggled with my own extensive health problems (which were aggravated by the pregnancy) and the extreme worry for my daughter as none of the doctors could work out what was wrong with her. I was told that I would attend his sisters 31st birthday party when my daughter was five weeks old. I refused to take her at night to a restaurant when it was virtually impossible to breast feed her in perfect surroundings (she vomited up to 45 times a day - I was breastfeeding her for 90 minutes then taking a 60 minute break then a further 90 minutes - round the clock - as she vomited so much, she was losing weight and dehydrating to the point of being life threatening at least twice a week) she was in a lot of pain and would cry terribly after feeding. I felt it inappropriate to expect me to consent to a demand (not invitation) to bring my baby to a party under these circumstances. My husbands view - it was his sisters birthday and we should consider her feelings, she would be sad if her brother and niece were not there...? Thoughts anyone, advice???

so basically I have been with my current partner for 6 years we have a little girl together who will be 1 in January. before we had her we was like rabbits when it come to the bedroom. when I was days away from giving birth we had sex to see if it would help me go into labour lol didn't work. he told me that he could not wait for me to have our baby so we could have more sex. hahaha yeah right that did not happen since we have had her we hardly have sex also it's always me that turns to him never the other way round it makes me feel worthless. any advice would be appreciated

I recently noticed a little change in my partner after a while his son went to visit his mom, he has been cold and definitely he misses his son but I feel it is getting to h too much because it's affecting our relationship. I spoke to him about it but he didn't notice any changes. I am scared of losing him what do I do

Myself and my partner have always had different sex drives, mine being less. Recently it's gotten worse and it's affecting our relationship. Most days I feel like I'm running our life alone, and resent the fact he has the freedom to have a career or hobbies whilst I gave up a lot to raise our children. Now they're a bit older I'm trying to find my own career that works around them, but all the other stuff I'd do as a stay at home mum still falls on my shoulders. By the end of the day I don't want sex because I've got all these mixed angry, guilty thoughts running through my head. I'm not sure how I let go so we can move forward?

I really don’t know what to say, I need some help. Me and my partner have a 5 month old little girl, things are really good when he doesn’t lie to me! He’s lied in the past about money, texts, he has never physically cheated on me, but these matters have all been resolved. However yesterday he lied again about something so small! I can’t take anymore of his lies, I feel like he doesn’t respect me and it’s really heartbreaking! Do I ask to go on a break? I don’t want my baby girl to be without her Daddy, but this is too much for me now.

I’m really struggling with liking my partner. We had our first baby in the beginning of the first lockdown and I’m pregnant again. I feel like I am just going off him and I don’t know if I love him anymore. I look at everything he does and it just frustrates me. I’m struggling to have sex with him because I just don’t feel like I want too. I feel like he doesn’t treat me nice too....

I was a happy man and I was married for 8 years..I have a daughter who is 4 ..And 1 year before I happened to discover that I wasn't the Father of my 4 year old..I was dead for a moment..How could she do this to me..I mean everything was fine we shared everything.. But I confronted her in a peaceful way with proofs..And she cried lots and told to forgive her and she loves me..And told not to leave her..what should I do..

My daughter's dad, who she hasn't met in her 4 years of life, recently came back and wants to meet her. We agreed on meeting but now he's saying things to me like "i miss uou" "i want to be with you" "i cant wait to see you" i dont know what to think. He recently broke up with his gf or thats what he said. The thing is that he hurt me , he left me pregnant and went with another woman and i thought i was really over him but now im confused. Is it worth it giving a try or should i just move on?

My husband and I made the decision to separate late last year and have recently moved out. He has now needed to leave town for work. Our separation came at the end of a long relationship that began 14 years ago (at 16 and 25) and has putted along, not altogether unhappily but with discontent and basically living completely separate lives for the last 5 or so years. We have one child together who is intense behaviourally and he has not been supportive of my struggles with her, so I have worked part time and managed her as best I can while he has worked full.time and pursued his own interests and hobbies at leisure, never feeling that time at home or helping with our child should be prioritised. Last year it culminated in him travelling overseas several times alone and having a relationship there which has now ended. I see this as the catalyst for ending our relationship but not necessarily the whole reason - none of it would have happened if we were happy together. I don't feel as though we have ever been able.to bring out the best in each other. When he first wanted to separate, I was sad (mainly for our daughter) but worked through those feelings, developed peace with the situation and our need to separate and some months later (officially separated but still under the same roof) very tentatively began a new relationship. After this started he backflipped and said he wanted to be back together. He thinks that he is ready to change. The relationship has been up and down basically since the beginning and I honestly feel like the best thing for both of us would be to peacefully and amicably let it go and work on reconnecting him as a parent. I am ok with the whole thing - a little sad but also excited about rediscovering old hobbies, making new friends, starting a new job and seeing how my very cautious new relationship develops now I am living alone (well, with my daughter). He is not emotionally expressive like me, is holding on to a lot of regret and sadness and is really struggling. I am really worried that he won't be ok on his own, and I still care about him deeply and this hurts me a lot. I guess what I want to know is: How do I know if we have made the right decision? Should I get back with him again, do heaps of counselling and really, really try to make it work (obviously ending the new relationship I have begun, which I would struggle with at this point) for his sake and for our daughter? My gut feeling is that if we did this we'd just be delaying the inevitable. If not, how do I help him move on from the relationship? We obviously are still communicating because of our daughter. And how do I go forth and be happy with someone new when I can't shake the feeling I've left a trail of heartbreak behind me? I know this is too long (and yet still so much is left out)! I don't really expect anyone to have the answers but any ideas or experiences would ve helpful. Thanks :)

I’m a first time Mam to our wonderful, happy 5 month old daughter - but am struggling to understand my husbands actions since her birth. I appreciated at first that her arrival would bring about a significant and substantial change in our dynamic and that time and talking through it would help us resettle into our new rhythm as a family. However - he has been dismissive and distant - put his needs above hers / ours. He has planned a number of imminent holidays away with his friends - spends leisure time away from the home at pubs / coffee shops when he isn’t working. When I try and raise these issues with him he tells me I’m overreacting and that this is his routine. He regularly bemoans my breastfeeding as a way of ‘stopping us’ from going out in the evenings and has continued to neglect my requests for help / support with domestic chores. When baby is ready I will of course look forward to evenings out but at this age (and as she isn’t taking a bottle) I’m not prepared to leave her with relatives and friends in the evenings or overnight. I try my best to encourage him to spend time with me in the late evenings when baby is asleep, but he just wants to camp out in front of the TV. When he is home, he pays little attention to our daughter in terms of play and will only engage with her so that he can post photos on social media. As a result - I’m lonely - frustrated and wanting desperately for him to understand how overwhelming his behaviour is becoming. I fear that he is only interested in the aesthetic of our marriage and family - and has very little interest in how we function practically as a unit. Any advice would be welcomed x
